The 2and2 office is a collaborative environment, full of hustle and bustle. Producers, developers, graphic designers and instructional designers are constantly liaising with one another about the best way to do this, or that for various projects running at the one time.
At the moment, Marcus (Developer), Alex (Developer) and Marianne (Graphic Designer) are sitting in a little enclave of their own, working autonomously and collaboratively in a sprint environment. Their challenge is to prototype a game in three days.
It’s a common thing in agile development, to churn out a hot piece of software or a game in a few days, and a great way to have a talented group of people focus on one project at a time, but I figure this type of production is pretty hard yakka, such a strict deadline would need a very accurate brief and detailed plan before production even begins.
At the end, I can imagine it would be hugely beneficial for the client, cutting production time to a minimum, and at completion, pretty satisfying for the people involved too.
Without interrupting them too much, over the next few days I’ll be tracking the progress, to give an insight into this type of development, and how these three great minds work together to produce a top notch educational game.
On your marks… get set… GO!
